Line Cook

Line cook for new plant-based restaurant $19+/Hr.

 Nori is a new all-plant-based vegan Japanese restaurant opening in Austin this summer. We are looking for hardworking and motivated individuals that are excited to be part of the new project. A line cook will be responsible for all hot dishes production from start to the finish. That includes setting up the hot food station, prepping for the shift and managing a work station during service.  During a typical shift, the line cook would:  use the frying station for appetizers, cook sauces for soups, bake, grill and sauté vegetables for rice dishes and decorate and present food for serving.  We are looking for a strong team player that is detail oriented, works well under pressure and has a high multi tasking skills.

Qualifications


  • 1 year of professional kitchen experience required
  • Good knife skills
  • Must be able to work 10-14 hours shifts
  • Must be able to cope with the demands of a fast and sometimes demanding work atmosphere
  • Must have knowledge in cooking hot, cold food, and preparation methods
  • Extensive problem-solving skills, detailed oriented and high standards in hygiene
  • Ability to walk, sit and stand for long periods of time
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
  • Strong team player. 


Responsibilities


  • Opening and closing procedure for hot food station;  prepping for service, baking, frying, deep frying and making orders during service
  • Prepare and present dishes  according to the restaurant's recipes and standards 
  • Always expected to maintain standards of food safety and sanitation
  • Clean, organize and sanitize stations at the end of the shift
